Erin Andrews Says New Coworker Tom Brady Was a 'Good Sport' During His Roast: 'It Was Hysterical' (Exclusive)

"My face was hurting from laughing so hard," Andrews tells PEOPLE of Brady's roast special

Fox Sports' Erin Andrews has a rave review for her new coworker, Tom Brady, and his roasters after the former NFL QB was pummeled with insults during the live special.

Brady's The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. aired on Netflix on May 5 and included roasting from host Kevin Hart, Brady's former teammates Julian EdelmanRob Gronkowski, Drew Bledsoe and Randy Moss, comedian Nikki Glaser and Kim Kardashian.

Speaking to PEOPLE the day after it aired, Andrews, 46, says she thought the event was "hysterical" and that Brady, 46, took the jokes in stride when the roast panel came for his divorce from Gisele Bündchen, unretiring from the NFL and Bündchen's new boyfriend, her karate coach Joaquim Valente.

"It was hysterical. Hysterical. You know, a couple of my teammates were on it," says Andrews, who was speaking on behalf of her partnership with Enfamil, referring to Fox Sports analysts Gronkowski, Edelman and incoming analyst Brady.

"I thought they were phenomenal," she continues, specifically shouting out former New England Patriots coach, Bill Belichick. "I thought Coach Belichick was freaking awesome," says Andrews. "They were such good sports."

The popular NFL sideline reporter also applauds Hart, whom she calls a friend. "I thought he did an amazing job. It was like, what? My face was hurting from laughing so hard. It was great."

Brady is set to join the Fox Sports broadcast team this NFL season after signing a 10-year contract worth $375 million, per multiple outlets, in 2022.

Andrews tells PEOPLE that she's excited for the seven-time Super Bowl champ to join the team. "It's going to be a really fun new year with us, with Tom in the booth. I'm a huge sports fan — I'm also a friend of his — but he's the G.O.A.T. He's the greatest of all time, and I'm excited to see how other players are going to react that he's covering."

Over the years, Andrews has heard "a lot of" Brady's best stories "off camera," and now she's excited for him "to tell those stories to people on camera" when the NFL season kicks off.

The upcoming season, starting in September, has a "great storyline," Andrews says. "I'm excited to see what's going to happen with the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles," she says, adding, "How is Kansas City going to keep this momentum up?"

Moreover, Andrews calls the NFL "the best unscripted reality show out there."

Before she takes to the sidelines this season, Andrews is lending her time and energy to giving back with Enfamil Enspire Optimum.

The baby formula brand and Andrews just announced a $50,000 commitment to Baby Quest, an organization that provides financial assistance to those who cannot afford the high costs of fertility treatments.

During an appearance on the Today Show on May 2, Andrews announced the “Mack Grant” and surprised a couple who've been struggling with infertility,with a $20,000 grant to help them pursue their dream of having a child.
