Euro 2024 final: Ballot opens for tickets to see England v Spain on giant screen at the O2

Up to 15,000 England fans will be able to cheer on the Three Lions in the Euro 2024 final at the O2 this Sunday.

The eagerly-awaited match against Spain in Berlin will be shown on a massive 16-metre screen at the entertainment and retail venue in Greenwich.

Tickets will be allocated via a ballot on City Hall’s website which opened at 10am on Thursday and will run until 9am on Friday.

Fans will be invited to arrive at the O2 from 6pm ahead of the 8pm kick-off to enjoy pre-match entertainment and create the biggest celebration of the Three Lions outside the German capital.

Successful entrants will be notified by email by midday on Friday and will be able to secure up to four tickets.

Following Wednesday night’s dramatic 2-1 victory over the Netherlands, Gareth Southgate’s team now stand one game away from delivering the nation’s first silverware in the men’s game since 1966.

They will be hoping to go one step further than in 2021, when they fell just short on penalties in the final against Italy at Wembley.

Mayor Sadiq Khan said: “I am so proud of what this team have achieved in reaching another major final.

“I’m delighted that we can now invite 15,000 England fans to The O2 on Sunday night for what we all hope will be a night of great drama and celebration.

“For those who can’t make it to The O2, there will be a plethora of pubs, clubs, bars and other hospitality venues across London receiving a welcome economic boost and generating a fantastic atmosphere by showing the match.

“We all recall the heartache of Wembley three years ago but being a football fan requires eternal optimism and we now stand ready once again to roar on the Three Lions as they look to finish the job against Spain. Come on England!”

Steve Sayer, the venue’s general manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming England fans to The O2 this Sunday to cheer on the Three Lions.

“It’s going to be an incredible atmosphere with up to 15,000 fans in the arena, and hopefully a memorable night of celebrations. It’s coming home!”

Fans are encouraged to wear England shirts but no other football shirts will be permitted.
