MLB star Evan Longoria and his wife, model and former The Amazing Race contestant Jaime Edmondson Longoria, have been together for over a decade.

The two met in February 2011 when Evan was playing a spring training game for the Tampa Bay Rays. Evan confirmed their relationship to the Tampa Bay Times one year later, saying, "It's been a secret for long enough; it's not really been a secret, but nobody has asked about it."

Jaime (née Jaime Faith Edmondson) is a former model who was Playboy’s Miss January in 2010, a former police officer, a former Miami Dolphins cheerleader and two-time contestant on The Amazing Race. However, that wasn’t all that piqued Evan's interest.

“I don’t even think of her like that. She’s actually more informed on sports,” Evan told the Tampa Bay Times in 2012. “She did a fantasy football blog the whole year, and she does a show on Sirius satellite radio. So it’s pretty cool to be able to talk to somebody on that level outside of the whole modelling thing.”

Evan and Jaime wed in 2015 and have since welcomed three children: daughters Elle and Lou and son Nash.

So who is Evan Longoria’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Jaime Edmondson Longoria and her relationship with the baseball star.

She was a police officer and an NFL cheerleader early in her career

After growing up in both Georgia and South Florida, Jaime studied criminology at Florida Atlantic University. At the same time, she was a cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins.

Following graduation, Jaime worked as a police officer in Boca Raton, telling the Palm Beach Post in 2012 that her “whole family consists of police officers.” However, she left the department after two years, saying, "I discovered that people are not receptive to people who don't look like they are supposed to be police officers."

“I literally could have saved a school full of children and they would never have seen me in another way [than as a cheerleader]," she told the outlet. Jaime returned to cheerleading and was eventually named an NFL Pro Bowl cheerleader in 2007.

"It was the best thing that could have happened because I have had so many more opportunities with that," she added. "If I had stayed, I'd still be working the night shift.

Jaime first appeared on The Amazing Race in 2009 with fellow former Dolphins cheerleader Cara Rosenthal. The pair came in second on the 14th season of the show in 2009 and later returned for season 18, an all-star season comprised of the best runners-up.

After Jaime and her partner were eliminated in season 18, they spoke with PEOPLE about what it was like to return for the all-star edition of the show.

“It was more challenging in the way the course was designed. The first time we didn’t have as much travel in between challenges, which is the part we really enjoy,” Jaime said. “This one was designed to break you down with four days in between pit stops with very little food or time to sleep. It took forever to get to and from challenges.”

After her time on The Amazing Race, Jaime wasn’t sure what her next move would be and even joked that maybe Playboy would call. Playboy did, in fact, call, asking to do a story on her and her Amazing Race partner, Rosenthal.

With Rosenthal unavailable because she was in law school, they asked Jaime to come down and test to be a model.

“I didn’t go about it in a traditional way. I did not see myself at 30 becoming a Playmate,” Jaime told the Palm Beach Post. “I didn’t know they had Playmates at 30, which they have, and I’m the first in five years.”

When Lauren Anderson, Playboy’s Miss July 2002, messaged Jaime to join her at a Tampa Bay Rays spring training game in February 2011, Jaime had no idea she would meet her future husband there. Anderson had married Reid Brignac, an infielder for the Rays at the time, in 2010, and Brignac was rooming with Evan during spring training.

Anderson arranged for the four of them to spend the day together after the game. While Jaime eventually had to go back to her home in California, Evan made sure they stayed in touch.

“We’re finally leaving ... he grabs my phone before we leave and he scanned it, which I never knew was a thing; that you could scan yourself into the BBM [BlackBerry Messenger],” Jaime said on the sports podcast Evan & Tiki. “He sent me a message and said that he would love to take me out to the town over in Punta Gorda. In the beginning, it was once a month we would chat briefly, and I’d meet him once a month.”

The two eventually became exclusive roughly 10 months after meeting and went public with their relationship in 2012.

Evan and Jaime got engaged in November 2013 and tied the knot on Dec. 31, 2015.

The couple discussed the details of their lavish Los Angeles wedding with Brides and explained why they chose New Year's Eve as their wedding date.

“New Year’s is all about having high hopes for the future, and I thought there was no more perfect way to start off marriage life than on a day when everyone is excited about what’s to come,” Jaime said. “We wanted to make sure it felt like a party for everyone, not just another reception.”

Their first daughter, Elle, was born in 2013, followed by their son, Nash, in 2014, and their second daughter, Lou, in 2021.
