Everything could be awesome: LEGO store coming to Winnipeg?

Holy brick, LEGO Batman, could Winnipeg be getting a LEGO store?

The Danish company — known for its colourful interlocking plastic bricks, gears, minifigures and various multitudinous parts that parents step on in the night — has posted a job opening for a retail assistant store manager in Winnipeg.

There are nine LEGO stores in Canada — two in Alberta, two in British Columbia, three in Ontario and two in Quebec. Right now, the closest LEGO retail store to Winnipeg is at the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

CBC News has contacted the company but has not yet heard back.

Since it began manufacturing its toy bricks in 1949, LEGO has spawned movies, games, competitions, and amusement parks.

According to Brand Finance, a consultancy firm, LEGO is now the world's most powerful brand. It took over the title from Ferrari in February.
