From Town & Country

You've already watched Emily In Paris (maybe even twice). Which means you likely swooned over the attractive men, wished Mindy was your best friend, and envied the extravagant wardrobe of Emily Cooper. But have you taken a moment to appreciate the evolution of Emily's lipstick looks throughout season one? Because yes, we need to talk about it.

From dusty mauve to bold reds, Emily — played by Lily Collins — wears shades inspired by her very own qualities. "She has a strong personality and asserts choices in everything, down to the colors and texture of the lipstick that she wears," Aurelie Payen, Lily's makeup artist on the show, tells Seventeen.

"For the daytime makeup lips, I chose the pink tones, going from pinkish brown to a deep pink and finally a beige," says Aurelie. While workday makeup was all about natural beauty and a healthy glow, Emily went more dramatic in the evenings with the help of various shades of reds. "As she gets more comfortable in her surroundings, the lip color is more intense," Aurelie explains.

To find out what exactly is in Emily's makeup bag, Aurelie shared the four go-to lipsticks depending on what the character was up to.

Matching with Emily's innocence and simplicity during her first day in Paris, Aurelie used MAC Whirl, a matte dusty rose lipstick.

If you're wondering what Emily's go-to lip color is for a busy day at Savoir, Aurelie says it's this mid-tone rose color from Pat McGrath.

The classic red lip Emily wears to the ballet looks so good, and it only costs $15. Aurelie used the Sephora Collection Lip Stain, color 01 Always Red.

For a date

Let it be known that Aurelie says eyeliner is the move for a date-night look — you know because of the possibility of some French kissing. But, she would say Emily's go-to lip for a date night out calls for Charlotte Tilbury in Bond Girl, which is now M.I.KISS. How fitting.
