Family from Picton, Ottawa charged after OPP drug seizure

Four members of the same family — including a couple and their daughter — were arrested in Picton, Ont., on Monday and are facing charges following a drug raid by Ontario Provincial Police.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on Diverbelt Drive in Picton on Wednesday morning.

Marijuana worth an estimated $45,000 was seized along with cash and drug paraphernalia, OPP said in a media release issued Thursday.

A husband and wife were arrested, along with their 20-year-old daughter. The daughter's uncle was also arrested.

The couple, who live in Picton and now face charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, are expected to appear in Belleville court today.

Their daughter and her uncle, who live in Ottawa and are also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, were released from custody.

They are scheduled to appear in Picton court on Aug. 20.
