FBI: International star Luke Kleintank has confirmed that he is quitting the show after three years.

The actor has played leading man Scott Forrester, head of the FBI fly team unit, since 2021 and was one of the original cast members of the CBS spin-off.

But Deadline has reported that Kleintank is leaving the series, with his last episode as Scott set to air on May 7.

"After much thought and consideration, I've made the difficult decision to leave FBI: International," the actor said in a statement. "This decision is driven by my unwavering commitment to my family, whose love and well-being are paramount in my life.

"I'm profoundly thankful for the extraordinary cast and crew of the show, who have not only been colleagues but also a family away from home. Their unwavering dedication and remarkable talents have made every moment on set an unforgettable journey that has enriched my life in countless ways."

He concluded: "Lastly, I would also like to extend my thanks to the fans who have supported us through the first three seasons."

Kleintank's departure comes months after fellow original cast member Heida Reed also exited FBI: International, and her character Special Agent Jamie Kellett transferred to the Washington D.C. field office.

Earlier this month, Deadline reported that Meet the Parents star Teri Polo has joined the season three cast, and while her character is being kept under wraps for now, she will appear in the final two episodes of the season.

Polo will also appear in season four, as the series was recently renewed for another season, with original series FBI also handed a three-season renewal and fellow spin-off FBI: Most Wanted returning for a sixth season.

CBS president Amy Reisenbach said: "The All-FBI Tuesday is a powerful force to be reckoned with on our primetime schedule. Dick Wolf and the talent in front of and behind the camera on all three series continue to deliver top-notch storytelling, riveting action and intrigue that has captivated a dedicated fanbase steadily across multiple seasons. We are excited to see what next season holds for all these heroic characters."

FBI, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted air on Tuesdays on CBS. In the UK, all three shows air on Sky Witness and NOW.
