Feb. 12: Calgary weather, traffic and happenings

Good morning! It's Thursday, Feb. 12. Here's what you need to know to start your day.

There's a chinook rolling through town, which means warm temperatures are the order of the day. The temperature has been on the rise for the past 24 hours, and it'll continue to rise throughout the day to an expected high of 11 degrees. We're already at –1 out at the airport, and we're hearing reports that the temperature is already higher in other spots in the city, particularly in the northwest.

The Calgary Eyeopener's Angela Knight is keeping an eye on traffic today — you can find her traffic tweets below.

Weather

We have a great forecast in store for the Family Day long weekend. We'll see temperatures hovering around 10 C and sunny skies on Friday, 10 C again on Saturday and 1 C Sunday.
