Fender-bender leads to fentanyl bust in Port Dover
Police responding to a crash by the lift bridge in Port Dover on Wednesday ended up reeling in a suspected fentanyl dealer.
Norfolk County OPP officers joined firefighters and paramedics at the scene of a collision between a pickup truck and a sedan on Hamilton Plank Road just after 8 a.m.
The two drivers escaped with minor injuries, police say.
Officers tested the pickup truck driver’s sobriety and arrested her at the scene of the crash.
A search of her truck turned up suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and hydromorphone, police say.
A 35-year-old woman from Niagara Falls faces charges of drug possession for the purposes of trafficking, impaired driving, dangerous driving and driving while under suspension and without a valid permit.
She was held in police custody pending a bail hearing in Simcoe.
