Fire at Mumbai Mall: 5 Personnel Injured, Ops Still Underway
A fire broke out at a mall in central Mumbai’s Nagpada area on Thursday, 22 October. At least five personnel were injured during firefighting operations, and were later discharged after treatment.
The fire that broke out at the City Centre Mall was later declared as a 'level-5' fire, with firefighting operations underway even a day after the incident took place.
Initially, as many as 24 fire trucks, six water tanks and around 250 firefighters were present at the site.
The cause of the fire is not known yet.
Around 3,500 residents of the neighbouring 55-storey residential tower were also evacuated earlier, NDTV reported. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar also visited the site on Thursday.
