Foothills rollover kills woman, injures 2 others

A young woman is dead and two others in their twenties were injured after a crash on a gravel road in the Municipal District of Foothills.

EMS say they responded to a vehicle that rolled over around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning near the intersection of 208th Street and 482nd Avenue.

Paramedics initially called STARS Air Ambulance to the collision — but cancelled it after declaring the woman ejected from the vehicle dead.

An ambulance took another young man to Foothills Hospital in serious but stable condition. He was also ejected from the SUV.

Another ambulance took the third woman in the vehicle, who was believed to be wearing a seatbelt, to Oilfields Hospital in Black Diamond in stable and non-life threatening condition.

"The information that EMS has is that the one passenger that was least injured was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the rollover," said Stuart Brideaux with EMS.

"It's believed that the other two occupants that were ejected had not been wearing seatbelts."

RCMP are investigating the collision.
