Former Walking Dead star teases return to franchise
Despite Negan's best efforts, The Walking Dead viewers probably haven't seen the last of Sgt Abraham Ford.
Few deaths on the AMC zombie apocalypse show have been as brutal as Abraham's. Both Rick Grimes's bearded enforcer and Glenn Rhee quite literally had their heads smashed in by Negan's barbwire-covered baseball bat to kick off the feud between to the two camps.
That might make any return to the franchise seem unlikely, aside from a brief flashback. Yet, actor Michael Cudlitz hinted to US show Strahan and Sarah this week that the ever-expanding Walking Dead TV universe offers a chance for Abraham to come back.

"The show has sort of laid out in its history is through flashbacks and origin stories. There's still characters on the show that were very close with Abraham that he had history with," he said, adding: "We could very easily go back."
He went on: "They're also doing other movies that are gonna move in time, go back in time, go forward in time, and I believe pair up characters that weren't necessarily paired up in the graphic novels."
Host Sara Haines pointed out that it sounded very much like Michael Cudlitz was actually confirming he would be going back to The Walking Dead at some point.
"A strong, subtle yes," he answered. "Very, very possible."
AMC has already announced a series of spinoff movies to reunite Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), in addition to a second spinoff show with a mysterious premise.

This is all part of an ambitious plan by producers and US channel AMC to keep The Walking Dead going for as long as 50 years.
The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV.
