Four Counties Health Services Foundation Seeks Continued Support
SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX - At the June 19 council meeting, the Four Counties Health Services Foundation highlighted, through a very engaging presentation, its vital role in the local healthcare system, emphasizing the need for continuous community support to finance essential medical equipment.
Tom Jeffery, Chair of the Foundation, outlined the foundation's mission to cultivate relationships that bolster Four Counties Health Services through raising awareness and encouraging community participation. Highlighting the strategic importance of the foundation, Jeffery underscored its role in enhancing patient care by facilitating the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment, which in turn reduces wait times and increases procedural efficiency. This contribution is crucial in a rural setting where healthcare accessibility significantly impacts community attraction and sustainability.
Julie McBrien, President and CEO of Middlesex Hospital Alliance, emphasized the proximity of Four Counties Health Services to Southwest Middlesex, noting it's only a nine-minute drive—vital during emergencies. McBrien shared compelling statistics illustrating the hospital's growing service demands, with increases in visits across all departments compared to the previous year, signaling the facility's expanding role in the community's health.
Fundraising Coordinator Jackie Beatty detailed the specific equipment needs for the year, focusing on enhancements in respiratory therapy—a poignant need in the wake of the COVID pandemic. Beatty’s narrative also painted a picture of the foundation’s deep community ties, exemplified by heartfelt stories from local residents whose lives were directly impacted by the services at Four Counties.
