Fox & Friends co-host visits Columbus restaurant. This is what it was like inside.

The smell of coffee, bacon, and eggs wafted through the air early Thursday inside Ruth Ann’s restaurant in downtown Columbus.

Diners were clad in MAGA hats, Trump 2024 hats and American flag gear. One woman wore a gigantic “Make America Great Again” foam hat with a red, white, and blue shirt.

Another individual wore a trump-loaf shirt, attire referencing the meatloaf at Ruth Ann’s Restaurant that claims to use the meatloaf recipe of Trump’s mother.

Patrons shook Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones’ hand and took selfies with him as he would walk by their tables. Jones was in Columbus to shoot a segment called “Breakfast with Friends.”

People began to cheer as Jones poured coffee to patrons, which would then show up on a TV in the restaurant turned to Fox News.

Lawrence went around the restaurant asking questions of Georgia voters prior to Thursday night’s presidential debate in Atlanta.

He approached Carla Goldman, who said she came to Ruth Ann’s for the event because, “There’s so many issues that need to be addressed and I just wanted to come out and support the candidate, Trump, and the people in this room.”

Goldman said it felt great to be able to talk to Jones and that he was very nice and gracious.

Local state politicians were also in attendance at the event. Carmen Rice was recently elected to the Georgia State House of Representatives for District 139.

“It’s just fantastic,” Rice said about Fox news being at the restaurant. “I’m so honored and glad that they chose to come to Columbus and then to support a small local business like Ruth Ann’s. I’m excited to be part of this,” Rice said.

State Senator Randy Robertson for District 29 was in attendance Thursday morning. When asked about the event he said, “It’s always good when the city of Columbus gets the recognition that it deserves.”

“A lot of times when we start talking about conservative parts of the state I think sometimes west Georgia is left out of the conversation,” said Robertson. “So, to bring the attention back here to show that there’s a strong conservative base here in Columbus, Ga. I think is extremely important.”

However, one of the main attractions of the event was Jones himself. When asked how it felt to be in Columbus at Ruth Ann’s he said, “Oh man, It’s incredible.”

“The people are nice, they’re very passionate about what’s happening in the country,” he said. He said everyone was welcoming and the people were “fired up.”

“They feel like they’ve been forgotten and a lot of the issues aren’t being addressed in the country,” Jones said and added that it was great talking to the people.

Jones said this wasn’t his first visit to Columbus. When asked if he’d come back he said, “I totally would. Everybody’s nice, food’s good, southern hospitality, I don’t think you could miss.”
