Fuel prices drop across N.L. in weekly price adjustment

The price of all fuels is down across Newfoundland and Labrador on Thursday.

The Public Utilities Board lowered the price of gasoline by 2.9 cents per litre in its weekly price adjustment, putting the price per litre on the Avalon Peninsula at $1.91 per litre.

Prices vary across the rest of the province, but range between $1.91 and $2.08 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1.77 and $2.15 per litre in Labrador.

Diesel decreased by the largest amount of any fuel, down 5.4 cents per litre across much of the province — and down 5.33 cents in Labrador West and Churchill Falls.

The price for the fuel now ranges between $1.85 and $1.97 per litre in Newfoundland and between $2.05 and $2.59 per litre in Labrador.

Customers for furnace oil will now pay 4.7 cents per litre less in Newfoundland, which means prices now range between $1.19 and $1.37 per litre depending on the region.

Stove oil decreased by the same amount across much of the province, but decreased by 4.51 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. The change means customers in Newfoundland will now pay between $1.24 and $1.42 per litre, while customers in Labrador will pay between $1.41 and $1.77 per litre.

Propane decreased by 2.2 cents per litre, putting costs at between $0.99 and $1.12 per litre in Newfoundland and between $0.85 and $1.30 per litre in Labrador.
