Grocery store in Macon robbed, officers say. Sheriff’s office seeks help finding suspect

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says someone robbed a grocery store on Walnut Street Wednesday morning and deputies are investigating.

The sheriff’s office said the robbery happened just before 11 a.m. at Corner Grocery. Deputies said a slender man wearing a red ski mask entered the store brandishing a gun and demanding money from the store clerk. He headed west on Walnut Street after taking an undisclosed amount of money, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. No one was injured.

The sheriff’s office described the robber as being between 5-feet-11-inches and 6-foot-1-inches.

Aside from wearing a red ski mask, he also wore camouflage coveralls and black shoes, the sheriff’s office said.
