Hailey Bieber's Uncle Billy is 'So Excited' About Her and Justin Bieber's Pregnancy: 'No Higher Calling on Earth' (Exclusive)

The Baldwin family is looking forward to a new arrival

Billy Baldwin is a proud uncle following his niece Hailey Bieber announcing her and her husband Justin Bieber's pregnancy news!

On Thursday, May 9, Baldwin, 61, spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about his growing family at the Americans With No Address VIP Screening at the Cinemark Baldwin Hills Crenshaw in Los Angeles.

“I really feel like there's no higher calling than that responsibility,” he said of Hailey, 27, and Justin, 30, becoming parents.

The couple — who originally wed in a secret courthouse ceremony in 2018 before they exchanged vows in front of 154 guests in South Carolina on Sept. 30, 2019 — announced they were pregnant with their first child on Thursday.

Their social media reveal took fans by surprise, and Hailey and Justin were likely able to keep the details a secret.

“I just found out a couple of hours ago,” Baldwin tells PEOPLE at Thursday’s screening.

“My niece and nephew [were asking], ‘Have you talked to Stephen [Baldwin] yet? Been able’ — No, I haven't. I just texted him,” he says, adding, “But this will be his second [grandchild] and I'm excited.”

Billy also shared what he thinks of the Rhode founder and the Grammy winner as a couple.

“I think they're an adorable couple. Hailey comes from a great family with my brother Stephen and his wife Kennya and her older sister Alaia, who's married with her own grandchild,” he tells PEOPLE of their large family.

The Northern Rescue alum also reflected on when he first became a parent, telling PEOPLE that his “greatest regrets” were “I was a little bit too new age, and I wasn't old school enough.”

After the couple made their grand reveal via an Instagram carousel, a rep for Hailey confirmed to PEOPLE that the model is just over six months pregnant.

Hailey and Justin each shared the same set of photos and video, which showed the mom-to-be wearing a white lace dress, holding her baby bump as she modeled for her husband — who played a photographer in the pictures.

In the images, the couple also renewed their vows.

A source also told PEOPLE that the expectant parents couldn’t be happier, and have even picked out a name for their unborn child.

"Everyone is excited for them," the source said. "They will be great parents, and Justin will be super involved. This will be the next important project for him. He’s so excited to raise his baby. They have a name that they think is perfect. They’re also starting to decorate a nursery. They can’t wait to meet the baby."
