Halifax snow removal targets certain downtown streets

Halifax says most of the snow from Monday's blizzard has been cleared, but there will still be certain streets you can't park your car on Wednesday night.

The municipality has targeted several roads for more snow clearing, and vehicles are not allowed to be parked on those stretches between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

Dartmouth

- Portland Street: from Alderney Drive to Victoria Road

- Prince Street, King Street, Wentworth Street and Dundas Street, between Portland Street and Alderney Drive

Halifax

- Argyle Street: from Sackville Street to Blowers Street

- Blowers Street: from Market Street to Barrington Street

- Grafton Street: from Blowers Street to Spring Garden Road

- Spring Garden Road: from Barrington Street to South Park Street

The city also says parking won't be allowed in all cul-de-sacs in residential areas tonight.

Vehicles can be ticketed or towed during the ban.

Halifax issued 507 tickets and towed two vehicles for violating Tuesday night's overnight parking ban.

During Monday's storm, the city issued 71 tickets and towed seven vehicles overnight.
