Health Matters: U.S. to pay Moderna $176M to develop bird flu vaccine

The U.S. government will pay vaccine maker Moderna $176 million dollars to accelerate development of a vaccine that could be used to prevent bird flu in people. The new funds are for continued development, including a late-stage trial next year if those early study results are positive.
