The queen of Halloween is back.

On Tuesday, Heidi Klum, 50, arrived at her annual Halloween bash with an entire team for her costume. For this year’s celebration, she went as a peacock, requiring the help of others for the peacock's tail feathers.

Posing on the red carpet during her arrival at Marquee New York, she (and her colorful crew) stacked on top of each other, almost like a Cirque du Soleil act, to transform into a large, beautiful bird.

At the center was Klum in a cobalt blue bodysuit. The America’s Got Talent judge wore an elaborate headpiece with a finely crafted beak.

Klum spoke exclusively to PEOPLE on the red carpet about her inspiration for this year’s costume.

“I wanted to do a costume with many, many people. I wanted to have a bunch of people and we all become one thing. And for me, in my mind, that one thing was the peacock,” she says.

The businesswoman added that she flew to Montreal to figure out how to stack everyone.

“My feet are a different pattern so my feet melt into his legs,” she tells PEOPLE, explaining how their placement was important for the hues of her costume.

Celebrity guests in attendance included Rachel Zegler, Ice-T and Coco, Taylor Lautner and Tay Dome, and more.

The model and Project Runway host says this costume has been in the works for an entire year. Each year she throws a star-studded Halloween bash, and the next morning, she’s already thinking up her next costume.

Klum is known for the dramatic lengths she goes to for the holiday, from learning to walk on stilts to going through hours of prosthetics. Whereas Klum once did her hair and makeup herself, today she has a team to help her.

In past years, Klum has dressed up as a cadaver, an old lady and Princess Fiona from Shrek, among many other iconic looks.

“I always try to find things that people naturally wouldn’t do,” Klum told PEOPLE earlier this year.

Last year, Klum’s epic comeback (she had put the parties on pause due to the COVID pandemic) brought one of her most famous looks yet — a worm costume. The intense look, which revealed only Klum’s eyes and mouth, rendered her completely unrecognizable.

Klum’s Halloween history also includes her Jessica Rabbit costume in 2015, which required extensive prosthetics. Klum posted a video of the process on Instagram, revealing how they recreated the character’s features.

Klum has also turned Halloween into an interactive experience. In 2019, she shared her getting ready process by undergoing the transformation in a window in New York City. In 2020, Klum showed her passion for the holiday by releasing a horror film to celebrate the spooky season.
