If you’ve ever had your iPhone 6S suddenly die on you, despite the fact it’s showing a healthy battery life, help could be at hand.

After lots of reports of problems with iPhone 6S handsets, Apple has finally coughed to the fact there’s a problem – and is now offering replacements.

To check if your phone is eligible, you just go here and enter the serial number (you can find this in Settings, under General, About.)

If you’re eligible, you can claim a free battery replacement.

In a statement, Apple said, ‘Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.

‘If you have experienced this issue, please visit an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider and have your device’s serial number checked to confirm eligibility for a battery replacement, free of charge’
