High school basketball: The new-look Fresno Bee rankings with four teams entering
Four teams enter The Fresno Bee’s Top 25 high school basketball rankings in the Central Section.
No. 24 Hoover boys make its debut in the rankings after picking up wins over then-No. 15 Sunnyside and wrapped up the week with a win over McLane.
The Patriots improved to 12-9.
Edison dropped out of the rankings after losses to Sanger, Bullard and Lemoore.
On the girls side, No. 22 Sierra Pacific (10-11) defeated Kingsburg and previously ranked El Diamante.
No. 23 Reedley and No. 25 Hanford also jumped into the rankings after impressive wins last week.
The Pirates bounced back after losing to Sierra Pacific, but followed up with a win over then No. 23 Selma.
No. 25 Hanford (10-10) picked up wins over Tulare Western and Mission Oak to get into the rankings.
TRAC/CMAC boys showdown
No. 2 Clovis West will visit No. 3 Clovis North at 7 p.m. in a Tri-River Athletic Conference showdown.
The Golden Eagles and Broncos are both 4-0 in the TRAC.
Clovis West are winners of the past 8 of 9 games. Clovis North have won the last nine games, including an 80-63 win over Vanden-Fairfield.
In the County/Metro Athletic Conference, No. 5 Bullard visits No. 8 San Joaquin Memorial.
The Knights are 4-0 in the CMAC, while the Panthers are 3-1.
