Highway 28 crash leaves driver dead

Inattentive driving is being investigated as the potential cause of a crash that killed a driver on a highway north of Namao this afternoon.

According to RCMP, it appears that a vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 28 crossed the centre line, forcing a pick-up truck that was travelling the other direction to swerve to the side of the road.

That truck was then struck by a third vehicle that was behind it. The truck left the road and rolled several times.

Police say the driver was found dead at the scene.

"Inattention (on the part of) the driver that crossed the centre line is being investigated," RCMP Sgt. Steve Vince told CBC News.

Vince said alcohol and speed are not thought to have been factors in the crash.
