Hit-making singer along with popular band coming to Modesto’s Fruit Yard in September

The Fruit Yard Amphitheater has added country star Dwight Yoakam to this season’s list of performers.

Also playing with Yoakam will be country group The Mavericks.

Yoakam will bring his “Cosmic Roundup & Rodeo Tour” to the Modesto venue at 6 p.m. Sept. 26. Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21.

Grammy winner Yoakam is known for his own hits as well as covers such as “Long Way to Go,” “Ain’t That Lonely Yet,” “Fast As You,” “Things Change,” “Streets of Bakersfield” and “Honky Tonk Man.”

The Mavericks are known for songs including “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down,” “What A Crying Shame” and “Here Comes the Rain.”

Yoakam and The Mavericks join the season’s remaining roster, including Midland (July 26), Walker Hayes (Aug. 8), El Festival De Íconos De La Musica Femenina Hispana Tour (Aug. 24), ERNEST (Sept. 14) and Chris Janson (Sept. 20).

Officially called The Fruit Yard Chicken Ranch Casino Resort Amphitheater, it’s at 7948 Yosemite Blvd. There is lawn seating and reserved seating to accommodate about 3,500 people.
