Hoda Kotb Raced to See Daughter Haley's Spring Concert Between “Today ”Show Tapings: 'Mamma's Gonna Come in Hot'

The mom of two ran around N.Y.C. to make sure she caught her daughter's spring show

Hoda Kotb would do anything to see her daughter perform — including running around New York City all morning.

On Thursday, April 18, the mom of two, 59, revealed on Today with Hoda & Jenna that she had been racing around the city all morning to make sure she made it to her 7-year-old daughter Haley's spring concert.

"Hoda has been racing around the city," co-host and friend Jenna Bush Hager, 42, says on the show.

"For all the moms who forget things, I’m among them," Hoda reveals. "So Haley yesterday said, 'Are you coming to my spring concert?’ I was like, ‘When is it?’ She goes, ‘It’s tomorrow?’"

"Well, tomorrow is today. And so it starts at 8:45 and anyone who’s tried to get around midtown, or around the Upper West Side, knows — and it’s raining! So I decided I was going to make," she continues.

"And I said, ‘Mamma’s gonna come in hot. You look at that door, I’m going to be there, okay? 8:45 I’m going to be there.’ ‘Okay, mamma, okay okay.’ So I come racing in — like, [my driver’s] driving like a manic through the streets… in and out of traffic. We roll up to the school, peace out, run inside. Make eye contact with my daughter," Kotb says, mimicking her daughter waving back.

"She saw you, she saw you," Bush Hager says.

"Had my other one in my arms. I’m watching 15 minutes of bang bang — you know how kids do it. It was so beautiful that I was melting that I was there and that she saw me and I was sitting holding my other daughter," Kotb remembers. "Then at 9, straight up. 8:45-9, it’s over. We had a pre-tape at 9:25. So we flew back, and we rolled in hot. There was our guest, we were interviewing Orlando Bloom. It was great."

"By the way, your hair is miraculously perfect," Bush Hager says, complimenting her friend.

Kotb is mom to daughters Haley and Hope, 4.

Earlier this month, Kotb shared an adorable picture on Instagram of her daughters wearing matchingToday with Hoda & Jenna T-shirts. Hope sweetly leaned her head on her sister's shoulder in the picture as the pair smiled for the camera.

"Represent!" the proud mom captioned the post.

"Awwww! I need some baby t's!" Bush Hager replied in the comments.
