Report of stabbing outside Bay Bulls bar leads to arrest

A woman has been arrested for impaired driving, after an altercation at a restaurant in Burgeo on Sunday.

Stephenville RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver leaving Burgeo at around 6 p.m.

Police said the woman left a restaurant in Burgeo after an altercation.

The woman was stopped in the Peter Stride's area, on Route 480.

When police pulled her over, they realized there were two small children in the back seat.

The 26-year-old Corner Brook woman was arrested and charged for impaired driving.

Child, Youth and Family Services officials were also called and placed the two children with family members.

Man arrested for smashing windshield

Meanwhile, a man who was involved in the altercation at the restaurant was later arrested in Stephenville.

He was found to be breaching conditions and mischief.

Police said the man smashed the windshield of the car the woman was driving. He was not supposed to have contact with her.

Police are continuing their investigation and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Stephenville RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
