Indicted Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby says she will fight

Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby stood defiant Friday to claim her innocence, saying she'll fight the charges levied against her by a federal grand jury the day before. Mosby was indicted Thursday on charges of perjury related to a COVID-19 financial hardship withdrawal and a false statement on a loan application. She spoke Friday afternoon, reading from a brief statement, but took no questions. Mosby faces federal charges of two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements on a loan application. According to the indictment, Mosby falsely claimed the COVID-19 pandemic caused a financial hardship that required her to withdraw $80,000 from her Baltimore City employee retirement account. She allegedly used the money as a down payment on two homes in Florida.
