Jeff Beck tribute concerts: Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton and Johnny Depp join line-up

Two gigs will take place at London's Royal Albert Hall in May

Legendary guitarist Jeff Beck will be honoured with two star-studded tribute concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Sir Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton and Johnny Depp are expected to top the line-up for the gigs in May.

Beck, who rose to fame in 60s rock band The Yardbirds, died in January aged 78 after contracting meningitis.

Who is on the line-up?

The two Jeff Beck tribute concerts will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on 22 and 23 May.

Stars expected to perform include Beck's ex-band mate Sir Rod Stewart, and Eric Clapton, his predecessor as guitarist of The Yardbirds.

Johnny Depp, who released a collaborative album with Beck last year, is also likely also be on the bill, along with members of Beck's touring band.

The full line-up has yet to be confirmed, but could reportedly include:

Surplus income from the concerts will be donated to the Folly Wildlife Rescue, based in Tunbridge Wells.

Who was Jeff Beck?

Beck was one of rock's most influential and innovative guitarists, best known for his work in The Yardbirds and The Jeff Beck Group.

Beck was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice – first as a member of The Yardbirds in 1992 and later as a solo artist in 2009.

During the course of his career, he won eight Grammys, and played with fellow icons such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Mick Jagger and Roger Waters.

His glittering list of collaborators also included Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Kate Bush, Brian Wilson, Nile Rogers, Jon Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne.

His 11th and final solo studio album, Loud Hailer, was released in 2016, although he continued to record and tour until shortly before his death.
