Jennifer Lopez Awkwardly Dodged a Question About Those Ben Affleck Divorce Rumors

Yikes.

Jennifer Lopez will not be answering any questions about her relationship with Ben Affleck. During the Mexico press conference for her latest Netflix movie, Atlas, the star had a very clipped response when asked if she and her husband are headed for divorce.

In a video posted to Instagram, a fan asked Lopez in Spanish if the Affleck divorce rumors are true, and asked her to provide some insight into their situation. Lopez didn't take the bait, leaning forward with a stern look at the person and saying, "You know better than that," before taking other questions about her work in the movie.

Lopez's response amid reports of her Affleck's relationship experiencing difficulties. A People source revealed on May 22 that their marriage “is not in the best place at the moment” due to a their differing approaches to media attention. Lopez is living in their $60 million Beverly Hills home amid their relationship conflict, while Affleck is renting a property a few miles away.

“She likes to open her heart to her fans and to the world,” a source told the outlet. “He is more introspective and private. This has been difficult day-to-day.”

The new claim is supported by previous source reporting from People, which noted that Affleck doesn't enjoy the spotlight as much as Lopez does. "They just have very different approaches when it comes to media attention. Ben hates all attention and it makes him very uncomfortable. Jennifer has always had a different approach," a source told the outlet.

While the status of Affleck and Lopez's relationship is still to be determined, being in the public eye "doesn’t make him happy and causes stress in his life and then in hers. There is no question their different styles clash" because Lopez "needs that expression but Affleck simply is not comfortable with it."
