The package was taken out at the start of 2024, garnering interest and eventually landing at Peacock with a series order.
In The Good Daughter, sisters Charlotte (Biel) and Samantha Quinn have spent the last twenty-eight years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. Now a lawyer like her father, she’s forced to confront her own demons as the case twists through one shocking revelation after another. In the end, both she and Samantha find themselves wondering if the price of being the good daughter was worth it after all.
Papandrea, Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver will executive produce for Fifth Season-based Made Up Stories (Big Little Lies, Anatomy of a Scandal); Biel and Michelle Purple will executive produce for Iron Ocean.
The project reunites Papandrea’s Made Up Stories with Slaughter after collaborating on the Netflix limited series adaptation of her novel Pieces of Her.
Biel, an Emmy nominee for The Sinner, is next set to star opposite Ethan Hawke and Daniel Radcliffe in Batso, the true story of a trio of trailblazing climbers who in the early 1970s took on the most difficult route up peak El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. She most recently starred in Hulu’s true crime limited series Candy as infamous ax killer Candy Montgomery. Biel is repped by UTA, LBI Entertainment, The Lede Company, and Yorn Levine Barnes.
