Kim Kardashian’s apparel brand tapped the singer as its new campaign star ahead of her summer tour starting June 19

Jhené Aiko is the new face of SKIMS!

The “Sunshine” singer and mom of two, 36, stars in the latest campaign from Kim Kardashian’s clothing and intimate apparel brand and the photos are, simply put, otherworldly.

Aiko, who was photographed by South African photographer Henrik Purienne, models SKIMS’ Cotton Rib and Jersey collections including neutral-colored tees, boy shorts and cheeky briefs in a majestic desert setting.

Her hair is styled in a free-flowing, slicked-back ponytail that extends all the way to her combat boots and into the sand, giving Aiko a “queen of the dunes” look.

“This was such a beautiful campaign to star in,” Aiko shared in a press release, adding that she felt "honored" take part in the shoot.

Posing in SKIMS second-skin designs was also second nature to Aiko, who noted that, while her onstage looks are “intricate,” she favors comfortable outfits when she’s hanging out with her family or when she’s on the road. “SKIMS Cotton styles provide me with the perfect solutions for my everyday life.”

The Grammy-nominated artist’s new modeling gig was announced on June 3 ahead of her Magic Hour Tour, which kicks off on June 19 in Detroit and will conclude on Aug. 22 in Columbus, Ohio.

“Jhené's presence adds a calm yet dynamic layer to the campaign that reflects the comfort and ease of SKIMS Cotton Rib and Cotton Jersey collections,” Kardashian, co-founder and chief creative officer, said in a press statement.

Having Aiko on set was also a win-win for the reality TV star who noted that the singer is one of her “favorite artists.”

In recent months, Kardashian has been expanding SKIMS' presence in the celebrity space.

In this year alone, the company tapped Lana Del Rey, Sabrina Carpenter and five of the biggest all-stars in the WNBA (a continuation of the brand's partnership with the women's league, the NBA and USA Basketball) as campaign stars.

SKIMS' star-studded family has gotten so big that even Kathy Bates has expressed wanting in on the action.

While speaking with PEOPLE at the CBS Fall Schedule Celebration in May, the actress, 75, revealed that Kardashian had sent her SKIMS products a few years back and said she was going to give her an ad one day. "And so I think, Kim, I'm waiting. I'm ready," Bates reaffirmed.

Considering Bates and Kardashian have starred in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story franchise, a fashion crossover might not be such a farfetched idea after all!
