Hannah Cooper has shared she's asked her husband Joel Dommett not to take part in Strictly Come Dancing over fears of the infamous "curse".

Speaking with The Sun, the model has explained she'd rather not to see her husband on Strictly given the show has seen a few romances developing between participants. In a trend known as "the Strictly curse", the BBC dancing show has seen several dancing couples taking their relationship outside the dance floor.

"I have a rule with Joel that I'd rather, if there was a choice, he didn't do Strictly," Cooper said of Dommett.

So it seems The Masked Singer UK host won't be seen in a passionate Strictly tango anytime soon, as Cooper has voiced her hesitancies.

"I hate to say it, but the Strictly curse and all that stuff," Cooper continued. "And it makes me sound awful because Joel says, 'Don't you trust me?'"

Cooper's concerns isn't the only reason why Dommett may not end up on Strictly as the model joked that her husband is "awful" at dancing.

Cooper and Dommett started dating in 2016 after an exchange on social media and got engaged the following year.

The pair tied the knot in 2019, then announced they were expecting their first child in May 2023 and they welcomed a baby boy named Wilde in September that year.

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
