Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid left their 108-94 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday with a left shoulder injury, and did not return.

Embiid collided with Cavs center Ante Zizic in the first half and headed to the locker room after experiencing pain while shooting free throws.

He briefly returned to the bench before heading back to the locker room in the second quarter. The 76ers eventually ruled him out with a shoulder sprain. He finished the night with three points in seven minutes.

After the game, Embiid told reporters that he will undergo an MRI Thursday to determine the extend of the injury, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey.

Philadelphia never led in the 14-point loss, and dropped into a 20-point hole midway through the third quarter, too. Shake Milton led the 76ers with 20 points, shooting 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Collin Sexton led the Cavs with 28 points, and Tristan Thompson finished with a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. The win marked their third in four games.

76ers now missing Simmons and Embiid

The news is another blow for the 76ers, who lost All-Star point guard Ben Simmons indefinitely to a back injury.

They began the night in fifth place in the Eastern Conference at 36-22 and now move into the stretch run with injury concerns surrounding their top two players.
