Justin Bieber doubles down on fighting Tom Cruise: 'I'm the Conor McGregor of entertainment'

They say third time’s a charm, but that wasn't necessarily the case when Justin Bieber appeared on Tuesday's The Late Late Show With James Corden. The pop star took his third spin on “Carpool Karaoke” and ended up arguing with Corden for a good chunk of it.

The argument began when Corden asked Bieber about the challenge he issued Cruise last June. In a tweet Bieber wrote, "I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you don't take this fight you're scared and you will never live it down." Bieber sloughed off the question, but became irritated when Corden said, "I think if you and Tom Cruise have a fight, I back Tom every day to have the week."

Bieber spent the next couple of minutes arguing why he would beat Tom Cruise in a fight. He claimed, "My mind control is another specimen, I'm different. I'm the Conor McGregor of entertainment!" This drew a hearty laugh from Corden which just frustrated the singer even more.

"I start to get frustrated because you're really boiling me up, man," said Bieber, "I want to fight you!" Bieber grabbed Corden's sweater and yanked him before letting go. Corden immediately responded, "That would be a good thing, like work your way up to Tom Cruise."

The more Bieber made claims like, "I'm dangerous," the more Corden laughed. Finally, Bieber insisted that Corden arm wrestle him in the car to prove how strong he is. Corden agreed and was promptly beaten by Bieber, who definitely took the moment seriously. But it was Corden who got in the parting shot, insisting, "You still can't be Tom Cruise."

The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
