Kansas City Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. signs endorsement deal with Whataburger

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ love of Whataburger (and its ketchup) is so strong that he helped bring the Texas fast-food chain to Kansas City.

Now another Kansas City sports star from Texas is partnering with Whataburger.

Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. on Thursday signed on to be a brand ambassador for Whataburger.

“As part of the collaboration, Witt will engage his fans in Kansas City and around the country through his social media accounts and collaborations with Whataburger on a series of upcoming initiatives,” Whataburger said in a news release.

Witt, who grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, said he frequented Whataburger as a kid.

“Joining Whataburger as a brand ambassador is like coming home,” Witt said in a news release. “These are the flavors I grew up with in Texas and where so many great memories were made at our local Whataburger after a game.

“It’s where we celebrated wins and shook off losses, and it’s a place that’s always been more than just a great burger joint to me.”
