The secret to the Duchess of Cambridge's glowing skin has been revealed – and it's an ingredient many of us have in our kitchen cupboards! Deborah Mitchell, a beauty therapist who has treated many celebrities and royals including Kate, said she loves to treat her clients to a homemade chocolate facial using chocolate spread.

Speaking during an appearance on This Morning on Thursday, Deborah said the unusual ingredient is great for dry skin, and is a hit among her celebrity clients. "Just use a normal chocolate spread with nuts and palm oil. The sugar in this is a really good exfoliator," she explained. "I have used this on some of my clients – although of course I can't say who."

Deborah also explained how to use the sweet treat as a face mask. "Put it on your skin and let it dry until it goes tacky. Roll it off with your fingers and it exfoliates the skin," the beautician said. "After you've done it, the skin goes very very sheeny and moist because the palm oil works on it – it helps dry skin the most."

Chocolate spread is not the only edible product you'll find in Deborah's beauty kit; she also said that she makes an exfoliator using a banana and avocado. Explaining the beauty benefits of the fruits, Deborah said: Put a few bananas in a dish and a bit of avocado with lemon juice, then mash together. This helps cracked heels and dry skin. Pop it into socks and leave your feet in there for 20 minutes. The bananas exfoliate and dissolve the hard skin on your feet."

Deborah also recommended using oats and milk in the bath to moisturise dry skin. "Put the oats and milk into a sock or muslin cloth and put that into the bath to soak. You can then rub your body with the sock to moisturise sock."
