Kathie Lee Gifford is excited to spend a special Mother's Day with her grandkids.

Speaking with PEOPLE at QVC's Q50 party in Las Vegas, the former Today co-host, 70, revealed how she's planning on spending her Mother's Day this year. Although she says she's "never made a big deal about holidays" and that she tries "to make every day feel special," the proud Bubbe says she's hoping to spend the day with her family.

"I told my kids every year don't get me anything. Just be with me. And we FaceTime almost every day, early in the morning, because they've got two little ones — my son does and Cassidy's got one little one."

"They're just precious. I'm long past ever wanting gifts unless they wanted to make Bubbe a little painting. And those kinds of things make my heart sing. I also love singing to them and making up naughty little songs."

While appearing on a March episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, Gifford and her daughter Cassidy, who welcomed her first baby, son Finn, with husband Ben Wierda in June, chatted about the 30-year-old's journey into motherhood.

"She’s an amazing mom," Gifford raved.

Turning to Cassidy, Jenna Bush Hager said they have to talk about her baby boy.

"It’s just the best," Cassidy said of motherhood, as Gifford added, "We call him Finnston Churchill."

When asked about how becoming a mom changed things for her, Cassidy said, "It has changed literally everything. Just watching the joy that he finds in everything; just that childlike wonder in every little thing. He’s just perfect, but I’m incredibly biased."

In December, Gifford shared photos from her Christmas celebrations with son Cody's family. In the photos, the Bubbe admired her son's two little boys — Ford Matthew, 5 months, and Frankie, 23 months — as "Little wonders! 💚❤️."

"So blessed to spend this very special week with my growing family. God is so good and I am so grateful," the excited grandmother wrote in her Instagram caption. "Praying His blessings on all of you today and into the next year."
