Katie Holmes Looks So Happy at Daughter Suri’s High School Graduation

Hope you’re ready for some wholesome AF mother-daughter-ness. Katie Holmes could not stop beaming as she celebrated her daughter Suri’s high school graduation in New York City.

Suri wore the traditional white dress underneath her cap and gown, and a sash around her shoulders read “Vocal” and “Music,” giving us a hint as to what she focused her studies on (see the pics here). Suri attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (yes, that’s the name), a.k.a. the high school that Fame is based on. Timothée Chalamet went there, along with a bunch of other famouses. Suri is reportedly headed to Carnegie Mellon for college, which has a top music program, so we may have a future singer on our hands.

In fact, Suri has already sung professionally, recording a cover of “Blue Moon” for her mom’s movie Alone Together in 2022. “I always want the highest level of talent,” Holmes told Yahoo! Entertainment at the time. “So I asked her! She’s very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing.”

“She actually did sing in [2023 film] Rare Objects, which is the film we did last fall,” Holmes added. “Other than that, she’s a 16-year-old kid doing high school.” And now, she’s an 18-year-old, almost doing college!

For her part, Holmes wore a soft buttery yellow set and sunglasses to the graduation celebration. Mother and daughter have been known to co-ordinate their outfits, and were spotted out in New York on May 16 in matching baggy ’90s indigo denim and sand tones.

This is Suri’s second rite of passage in under a week, as she recently attended prom in a bodice-style dress with a ’90s floral pattern. The teenager wore a dark lip for the occasion and seemed to be having the time of her life as she took pictures on the sidewalk, which you can see here.
