Killer Mike won't face charges following his arrest after the 2024 Grammy Awards.

On Wednesday, June 26, the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office revealed it would not be pursuing criminal charges against the 49-year-old rapper, born Michael Render.

“Mr. Render has successfully completed the Office’s Hearing process, including a community service requirement that was imposed,” a representative from the L.A. City Attorney’s Office told PEOPLE in a statement.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, Killer Mike was escorted out of the awards show in handcuffs, hours after winning best rap song and best rap performance for "Scientist & Engineers" and best rap album for Michael during the show's pre-telecast ceremony.

In video captured by The Hollywood Reporter writer Chris Gardner and shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Atlanta hip-hop star was seen being detained by authorities. TMZ reported that the incident occurred after an "alleged physical confrontation. Gardner also reported that a police official said Killer Mike could be "released later from the arena."

While leaving the Crypto.com Arena in L.A., someone could be heard in the footage saying "Free Mike." At the time, it was unclear whether Killer Mike had been booked or charged.

PEOPLE had reached out to the rapper's representative for comment at the time of the incident.

A representative from the Los Angeles Police Department would not confirm the musician's identity but told PEOPLE that just after 4 p.m., a male was detained for his involvement in a physical altercation. "

"At this time the individual is being questioned by the police and the investigation is ongoing," they said.

However, that night, the LAPD confirmed on X that an adult male who "was detained & handcuffed for a physical altercation that occurred at the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court" was arrested and transported to LAPD Central Division.

On Tuesday, Feb. 6, the "Run" artist shared a statement with PEOPLE citing "confusion around which door my team and I should enter."

"We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing," Killer Mike said. "Until that time, keep listening to Michael, and keep going after your dreams."
