Kim Kardashian Says Her Controversial Nipple Bra Was "Molded After" Her Own Breasts

And teased that a "half nip" version might be hitting shelves soon.

When Kim Kardashian released her viral nipple bra last year, the internet was divided: some called it "genius," while others thought it was a joke. But no matter your opinion, the SKIMS founder was the first to come up with the innovative design and was more involved in the process than you probably think.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kardashian revealed that the bra was "actually molded after" her breasts. “Your own boobs?” Kimmel questioned for clarity, to which the reality star replied: “It’s a pad, yeah. It’s a pad with a nipple on it. So if you wanted to feel nippy." The late-night host then asked Kardashian if she saw a woman walking around with the bra on, if she would say, "Oh! Those are my boobs!"

"I would, actually," she said with a laugh, before revealing that her sister Khloé Kardashian once wore the bra and was called out by Scott Disick for being dressed "inappropriate." And she ended up putting the blame back on Kim. "She was like, ‘Oh no, they’re not mine. They’re Kim’s,'” Kardashian said.

To Disick's point, Kardashian said she might be releasing a more subtle version of the bra. "I wore this and I showed up to a meeting once and I was so insecure that I was covering it with my hair just not to show them," she explained of her inspiration behind the new design, adding: "So, I think we're gonna make one with like, a half nip. Like, not as hard."

Back in October, Kardashian announced the launch of her Ultimate Nipple Bra with a cheeky video for SKIMS. In the clip, the fashion entrepreneur wore the bra underneath a skintight bodysuit and accessorized with glasses while moonlighting as a scientist. “The earth’s temperature is getting hotter and hotter. The sea levels are rising. The ice sheets are shrinking," she said, before the camera panned to a diagram of the bra. "That’s why I’m introducing a brand new bra with a built-in nipple, so no matter how hot it is, you’ll always look cold."

Kardashian jokingly concluded, "Some days are hard, but, these nipples are harder."
