Kourtney Kardashian has detailed her emotional IVF journey, saying she had “optimised her health” before getting pregnant.

The reality star welcomed her first child, Rocky, with husband Travis Barker back in November, following the children she shared with former partner Scott Disick.

During a Q+A on Instagram Stories, Kourtney was asked about how she navigated her IVF journey, with one follower writing (via PEOPLE): “Had 6 failed IVFs - how did you find the strength to keep going? It's debilitating.”

“I stopped after a year of trying (5 failed IVF cycles, 3 retrievals) my body relaxed and I believed in God's plan for my life,” said Kourtney in response. “Lots of prayers for whatever was meant to be for us.

“Also lots of optimising my health. 🙏🏻❤️ I know how hard it is to feel like you're not trying, but believing in God's plan and saying your prayers is so powerful. All the best!” she added, before clarifying that she got pregnant naturally.

Kourtney had previously detailed her and Travis’ struggles with fertility during an episode of The Kardashians, before the star shared in September 2023 that she underwent “urgent foetal surgery” to save Rocky’s life before he was born.

“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life,” she said at the time. “I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock.

“And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this. I don't think anyone who hasn't been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
