Kristin Davis Parodies Nara Smith's Viral Gum-Making Video and 'It's Giving Charlotte York'

Kristin Davis carefully arranged pieces of already-wrapped gum in her hilarious Instagram post

Kristin Davis would have made Charlotte York proud with this attempt at cooking.

The Sex and the City alum parodied a viral video of influencer Nara Smith making chewing gum from scratch. Smith, 22, is known for her involved cooking videos where she makes everything from cinnamon toast crunch to Cheez-Its with fresh ingredients.

In Smith’s original video from May 1, which has over 42 million views, the TikToker calmly narrates the steps she takes to make bubble gum for her sister who was craving it "so bad" but "ran out." The mother-of-three used gum base, corn syrup, powdered sugar and other ingredients to create individual pieces of green apple and cinnamon vanilla-flavored gum.

After she rolled out individual gum balls, she carefully wrapped them in wax paper. The meticulous process impressed her followers, and apparently inspired Davis, 59, to try it herself.

The And Just Like That star shared her version on Instagram on May 28 — but put her own spin on it. She used the audio from the original TikTok video, which had some convinced she was going to make the chewing gum just like Smith.

After laying down wax paper on a cutting board, instead of breaking out a rolling pin, Davis grabbed a serving bowl. She slowly pulled pieces of already-wrapped gum out of Trident, 5 Gum and Juicy Fruit containers, arranging them just so in the bowl. At the end, she shows off her creation, proud of her hard work.

Davis’ followers got a kick out of at her parody, which she captioned “In my Nara Smith Era.”

“It's giving Charlotte York,” one fan wrote, comparing her to her Sex and the City character. “Charlotte IS Nara!” another chimed in.

Smith has seven million followers on TikTok, where in addition to cooking videos, she also gives fans a glimpse at her life as a mother.

She shares three children — Rumble Honey, Slim Easy and Whimsy Lou — with her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith.
