Lexington police seeking information that could help solve shooting case
The Lexington Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving a recent shooting that injured two people.
The shooting happened around 12:25 a.m. on the 2200 block of Cummins Court.
Det. Kristyn Klingshirn, coordinator of Bluegrass Crime Stoppers said officers were dispatched for a report of shots fired and found damage to two apartments and an unoccupied vehicle on scene.
While investigating, two men showed up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. Police previously said the victims’ injuries were non-life-threatening.
The victims were 27 and 29 years old, according to Lexington police data.
Witnesses told police the shooter was seen from the corner of the parking lot, according to Klingshirn. Afterwards the suspect was seen fleeing on foot in the direction on Daniel Court.
It was too dark for the witnesses to provide an accurate description of the suspect and surveillance cameras did not capture the suspect. Klingshirn said detectives are hoping other people in the area may have seen something or captured the suspect on their personal security system.
