Listen to this: Cashmere Cat with Selena Gomez and OneRepublic with Peter Gabriel

There’s a long history of performers collaborating with artists from other genres to make hits. This is especially true in hip hop, where rappers teamed with singers have proven a surefire way to have a successful chart run. Pop-rockers OneRepublic have several collaborators on their new album, including Brooklyn’s Santigold and French dance duo Cassius, but we love this week's synth-laced duet with 1980s icon Peter Gabriel. Another favourite is electronic producer Cashmere Cat’s sexy collab with a purring Selena Gomez and a cooing vocal from Tory Lanez.

OneRepublic: “A.I.” feat. Peter Gabriel
The Colorado pop quintet has mastered the art of synthesis, absorbing influences ranging from rock and pop to indie and hip hop. OneRepublic’s fourth album pays homage to ’80s influences, including U2 and one of frontman Ryan Tedder’s major idols, who guests on this electro-pop dance number that toys with the concept of artificial intelligence.

The members of OneRepublic were thrilled to have the “Sledgehammer” star join them on their latest single and took to their Twitter account to show their appreciation.

Cashmere Cat: “Trust Nobody” feat. Selena Gomez & Tory Lanez
Cashmere Cat, aka Norwegian producer Magnus Høiberg, is earning a reputation as the king of bedroom beats: baby-makin’ grooves perfect for late-night listening. After teaming up with the Weeknd on his last single “Wild Love,” the Cat now gets down with pop princess Selena and Canadian hip-hop artist Tory with an irresistible jam.

The maestro of sexy beats took to Twitter to tell the world all about his new single and, inexplicably, used an image of a blinding snowstorm to accompany his message.
