Lunar New Year, Half Moon Run and a wedding fair: What's on this weekend in Calgary

The deep freeze is still upon us but don't let that stop you from warming up to some entertainment options this weekend.

Lunar New Year celebration

This Friday and Saturday night, at Jack Singer Concert Hall, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra is presenting a concert called the Lunar New Year Celebration.

It's a mix of traditional and contemporary Chinese music with Junping Qian is the guest conductor.

In 2008, Google and YouTube commissioned Tan Dun to compose Internet Symphony No. 1 for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra.

More than 22 million people from 200 countries tuned in to watch and you have a chance to hear it live this weekend with the CPO.

Diavolo presented by Alberta Ballet

This dance troupe from L.A. is performing at the Jubilee Auditorium starting tonight and continuing until Saturday evening.

They were a top 10 finalist on America's Got Talent.

They're known for acrobatic dance productions that incorporate large architectural structures on stage — like domes, pyramids, rectangles — which they dance and parkour on.
