This Makeup Artist Created a Gorgeous Monochromatic Look Using Only Black-Owned Beauty Brands

It's no secret that Black-owned beauty brands have received a flood of attention and support over the last few weeks in response to the Black Lives Matter movement and anti-racist efforts that are finally taking place. That being said, the truth is, we should all be celebrating and shopping these brands not just now — but always. This week, a makeup artist by the name of Lauren B. Brown created a gorgeous look using all Black-owned brands to drive this point home.

The 18-year-old MUA, who goes by @raggedyroyal on Instagram, shared her vision with Allure in an email. "With this look composed of Black-owned beauty brands, I wanted to highlight the importance of supporting companies that support Black artists daily," she writes.

The look in question includes a bronze smoky eye with gold glitter, rose-gold cheeks, and rust-toned lips that tie everything together. She also went for a dramatic lash look with sky-high falsies courtesy of SlayByElla. As for the other products, Brown used Coloured Raine's Beauty Rust Palette on her eyes, Pat McGrath Labs' Chromaluxe Hi-Lite Cream in Pale Gold 002 for some sparkle, The Lip Bar's Lash Flash Strengthening Mascara) to fuse her lashes with the falsies, and MTF Cosmetics' Eyebrow Definer to shape her arches.

Additionally, she used Fenty Beauty's Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Chili Mango on her cheeks, as well as Coloured Raine's Lipstick in Huntress topped with the brand's Liquid Lipstick in Butterscotch..

Brown garnered a wellspring of praise and positive feedback on her post in which she debuted the look, with countless comments from fans like, "Love this lip on you 😍, "QUEEN," and "Just followed the brands i wasnt following just yet, thank you!" Additionally, some of the brands she used, including Coloured Raine, thanked her for the love.
