Malawi needs donor support for 14.7 pct of budget: finance ministry

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Malawi will need donor funding to cover nearly 15 percent of its 2014/15 budget, while the economy is expected to grow by 6.3 percent this year from 6.1 percent in 2013, the finance ministry said on Tuesday. The government expects prudent monetary policies and higher farming production to push inflation lower to 19.4 percent in 2014, from 27.3 percent last year, the ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
