A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing inside a Brampton apartment building Wednesday that left one man dead.

In a news release Saturday, Peel Regional Police said they were called to an apartment complex near Bovaird Drive and Creditview Road, just after 8:30 a.m. for reports of an altercation between two men.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been fatally stabbed. At the time, police said a male suspect fled the scene.

A 49-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on Friday and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident.

Police previously said they believe there is no threat to the community.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact investigators.
