Man charged with murdering father-of-two Josh McKay in Walthamstow stab attack

A man has been charged with murder after a father-of-two was fatally stabbed in east London.

Renai Belle, 29, from Edmonton is accused of killing Josh McKay, 33.

He is due to appear before Highbury Magistrates on Wednesday.

Mr McKay died at the scene on Lea Bridge Road, Walthamstow, after he suffered a fatal knife wound on Saturday.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be a single knife wound to the neck.

In a statement after the incident Mr McKay's family said: “The heart of our family has stopped beating.

"The world is less bright without his beautiful smile.”

A police statement said: “Police were called shortly before 15:00hrs on Saturday, 6 July to reports of a man stabbed on Lea Bridge Road, E10.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services, 33-year-old Josh McKay died at the scene.

“His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

“Renai Belle, 29, of Edmonton was charged on Wednesday, 10 July with the murder of Josh McKay and possession of a bladed article.

“He appears in custody today, Wednesday, 10 July at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court.”
