Man dies after car enters water

A man has died after the car he was driving entered a river.

The red Mercedes C220 came off the Forty Foot Bank road near Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, and went into the Forty Foot Drain river at about 11:50 BST.

Emergency services attended the incident, but the 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed while rescue efforts took place and the car was recovered.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary has urged people to get in touch if they have any information.
